About the Author


Stephen W. Plumb is a reference and research librarian at the James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is the former director of the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library and was also a newspaper librarian at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He is the author of The Streets Where They Lived, published in 1989 by Marlor Press. The first volume of his new book, Notable New York: The West Side and Greenwich Village, was published in Spring of 2006. The second volume, covering the East Side of Manhattan, appeared in the Fall of the same year.
